American artist, Nate Butler with South African singer, Anais and Tsogo Sun’s director of operations and complex general manager, Shane Collinson.
International songwriter, producer and America’s got talent’s A&R, Nate Bulter recently shot the music video for his latest song with SA artist Anais at Silverstar Casino.

This is Butler’s third visit to South Africa and he is the first to admit that leaving our shores is always emotional for him. Butler and Anais collaborated on the song, Dance Like David, and the music video was shot at Silverstar on 5 March.

“My manager in South Africa told me about Anais last year before I had to perform at Montecasino but I was a bit hesitant to hear her out because I thought it would just be ‘another’ artist that I have to hear. I started to look at some of her work and videos and I was really impressed, I loved her talent. We met when I came to South Africa and performed for the first time on stage and it was amazing.”

The two musicians held a workshop on Tuesday 3 March for pupils at Tsogo Sun’s Arts Academy. The duo shared their tricks of the industry and vast knowledge. Six of the pupils have been invited to audition for the New York Film Academy in partnership with Anais’ Be your Dream project.

She said the project is about inspiring young people that anything is possible and to never give up on your dreams.

“No matter how bad things may seem, never stop believing in yourself. A friend of mine had reached rock bottom a couple of years ago and during that time, he lost everything. He started writing the song titled, Be your Dream, and when he played it for me, I just loved it. It is a message that anyone can relate to.”

Nate and Anais are enthusiastic about working together and their joint projects certainly won’t end with just one song. Both are passionate about their crafts and passing their knowledge on to young people.

Bulter added that having been in the industry for as long as he has, it is always important to make art that can be enjoyed and appreciated.

Tsogo Sun’s director of operations and complex general manager, Shane Collinson, concluded that an opportunity to work with the two music giants was an amazing experience for Tsogo Sun’s Arts Academy. “When the idea was proposed to us, we jumped on it. It is a great opportunity for these young artists to showcase their skills.”
